Summer Tourism in Finnish Lapland

2018

At the beginning of summer garbages is collected in Lapland. Winter tourists have left, and their footprints are revealed under the snow: pizza boxes, cans, umbrellas, and sneakers. Then it is quiet and empty. Many restaurants have closed their doors, and seasonal workers have returned home or fled the world. The midnight sun shines on snowmobile trails, igloos built for tourists and fells lined with ski lifts. Rovaniemi's Santa Park is still open in July. Below the Arctic Circle, inside the cliff, year-round Christmas is on! In the summer, however, Santa Park makes only 15-17 percent of its turnover. You can see an elf taking a break at the side door of Santa's Workshop Village. Felted it is stripped in the heat, but the wool socks remain on the foot. Now is the time to take a break.
