Palestinians are living under pressure from the state of Israel and are experiencing oppression in all aspects of everyday life. Life is cramped and challenging, but life goes on. The appearence of Palestinian men seems egoistic. They go for facials, buy fine furniture and dress well. They want life to look good even if external oppression erodes their life. Egoism and vanity appear in Palestinianity as a place to escape from the endless occupation.
